Breakout Player Alert: Carolina Panthers Tight End Greg Olsen

Greg was drafted in the 1st round by the Chicago Bears back in 2007. He flourished there and was traded last season to Carolina. Matching him with rookie Quarterback Cam Newton was great.

He racked up 540 yards receiving on just 45 catches and 5 TD's. All while splitting playing time with Jeremy Shockey. With Shockey's departure, look for Greg to put up numbers like Chargers TE Antonio Gates.

With a full off-season as the starter under his belt on Panther-land, Olsen should thrive in what could be one of the NFC's most potent offenses. Carolina dons a two; better yet; three-headed monster running attack with D'Angelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, and newly-acquired Mike Tolbert via San Diego.

We can't forget about Wide Receiver Steve Smith, the incumbent veteran. He proved last year that he still has "it". Olsen will see almost double the amount of targets, thus making more plays. Greg is a player that studies and works his tail off and it shows.

As long as Quarterback Cam Newton and Greg Olsen stay healthy, this group will be on par with the elite.
